About Golden Teacher Spores
Golden Teacher is probably the most recognised Psilocybe cubensis strain in the world. It first appeared in the 1980s, and its origin story has always been a little hazy, which only adds to the appeal. Mature specimens are known for their golden, caramel coloured caps with lighter edges and thick, pale stems. For anyone starting a spore collection, it is the reference strain everything else tends to be compared against.
Under the Microscope
Golden Teacher spores are a textbook example of cubensis morphology. Expect a dense, dark purple brown spore print and, at 400x to 1000x, smooth ellipsoid spores roughly 10 to 14 micrometres long with a visible germ pore at one end. Because they are so consistent, we often suggest Golden Teacher as the first slide for anyone new to spore microscopy.

Storage
Keep the syringe in the fridge at 2 to 8°C, out of direct light. Allow it to reach room temperature and shake gently before placing a drop on a slide.
