Terms & Conditions

Terms and conditions

The small print, in plain English.

These terms cover every order placed on magicalspores.co.uk. They’re written to be read, not skimmed past. If anything isn’t clear, ask us before you order.

01

Who we are

Magical Spores (formerly Shiny Spores) is a UK mycology supplier. You can reach us at hello@magicalspores.co.uk or through our contact page. When these terms say “we”, “us” or “our”, they mean Magical Spores. “You” means the person placing the order.

02

Who can order

You must be 18 or over to buy from us. We currently deliver to UK addresses only. By placing an order you confirm both of these are true.

03

Spores are for microscopy only

Our spore syringes, swabs and prints are sold for microscopy, taxonomy and research purposes only. They contain no psilocybin or psilocin and are legal to buy and own in the UK. Germinating spores of species that contain these compounds is illegal, and we won’t give advice on doing so.

Our grow kits, cultures, spawn and growing supplies are for gourmet and medicinal species, and for general mycology. We reserve the right to cancel any order where we believe a product will be used unlawfully.

04

Placing an order

When you place an order you’ll get an email confirming we’ve received it. That email isn’t acceptance. The contract between us starts when we dispatch your order and send you a dispatch email.

We may decline or cancel an order, for example if an item is out of stock, a price was shown incorrectly, or we can’t verify payment. If that happens we’ll tell you and refund anything you’ve paid in full.

05

Prices and payment

All prices are in pounds sterling and are the price you pay, with delivery shown separately at checkout. Multi-buy deals such as our spore mix and match are applied automatically in your basket.

We currently take payment by bank transfer. Our bank details are shown after checkout and in your order email. Please use your order number as the payment reference so we can match it quickly. We start preparing your order once payment has arrived. If we haven’t received payment within 7 days, we may cancel the order. See payment methods for more.

06

Delivery

Delivery is free on UK orders over £60. Orders under £60 are £3.99. Everything ships in plain, discreet packaging. Dispatch times, couriers and what to do if a parcel goes missing are all on our delivery page.

07

Cancellations and returns

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you can cancel most orders within 14 days of receiving them, then have a further 14 days to send items back unopened. Live products such as cultures, spawn, fruiting blocks and grow kits are perishable, so they can’t be returned once opened or used. Damaged, faulty or missing items should be reported within 14 days of delivery. Full details are on our returns and refunds page.

08

Our Lifetime Guarantee

On top of your legal rights, eligible grow products are covered by our Lifetime Guarantee. If a grow fails, we’ll replace it for free. The guarantee page explains what’s covered and how to claim.

09

Your rights and our responsibility

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Products must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. We’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We aren’t responsible for loss that wasn’t foreseeable, for business losses, or for results that depend on how products are stored, handled or used after delivery.

10

Your data

We only use your details to process your order, deliver it and keep in touch if you’ve asked us to. Read our privacy policy for the full picture.

11

The legal bit

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place your order is the one that applies to it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring proceedings in the courts of England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland depending on where you live.
