Bulk Mushroom Growing Made Simple

The monotub is one of the most popular ways to grow mushrooms in quantity, and this monotub mushroom grow kit gives you everything needed apart from your culture. You get a purpose built tub with adjustable air vents, sterilised grain spawn, sterilised CVG substrate and the key extras, so there is no need for a pressure cooker or any lab kit.

What Is Included

Regular kit:

• 1 x 1.5kg sterilised millet grain spawn bag
• 1 x 2kg sterilised CVG mushroom substrate bag
• 1 x regular monotub (38cm L x 26cm W x 20cm H)
• 1 x ultra fine mister
• 1 x mycology kit (gloves and alcohol swabs)

Large kit:

• 2 x 1.5kg sterilised millet grain spawn bags
• 2 x 2kg sterilised CVG substrate bags
• 1 x large monotub (58cm L x 38cm W x 28cm H)
• 1 x ultra fine mister
• 1 x mycology kit

How It Works

1. Inoculate the grain bag through the injection port with around 5ml of culture.
2. Incubate at 20 to 25°C, mixing the bag at 30 percent colonisation.
3. When the grain is fully white, mix it with the CVG in the cleaned tub and level the surface.
4. Close the vents and let the surface colonise.
5. Open the vents, give indirect light and mist lightly to trigger fruiting.

Why Monotubs Work

The tub creates its own humid microclimate, so once it is fruiting it needs far less attention than an open chamber. We switched to monotubs years ago and the flushes have been bigger and more even ever since.

Reusing the Tub
