Spawn and Substrate in One Order
Working out how much grain and substrate to buy is one of the questions we get asked most. This bundle takes the guesswork out. You get a bag of sterilised millet grain spawn and a bag of sterilised CVG substrate, matched in size so they combine perfectly. It is an ideal bulk mushroom growing kit for anyone ready to move beyond small grow kits.
What Is Included
- 1 x 1.5kg sterilised millet grain spawn bag (Regular bundle)
- 1 x 2kg sterilised CVG mushroom substrate bag (Regular bundle)
- Large bundle option available for bigger tubs
A culture is not included. Pick one from our liquid cultures.
How It Works
- Inoculate the millet bag with around 5ml of liquid culture through the injection port.
- Incubate in the dark at 20 to 25°C, mixing at 30 percent colonisation.
- Once the grain is fully colonised, mix it with the CVG in a clean monotub or large grow bag.
- Let the surface colonise, then introduce fresh air, light and humidity to fruit.
Why CVG?
Coco coir, vermiculite and gypsum hold moisture well and resist contamination, making CVG one of the most forgiving bulk substrates for home growers. Ours is mixed to field capacity and sterilised, so there is no mess or prep.
Our Experience
Before we sold pre made bags we used to mix CVG by the bucketful in the garage, getting the moisture right by squeezing handfuls. This bundle does all that for you, and the results are more consistent.
