About Leucistic Burma Spores
Leucistic Burma is a pale variant of the Burma strain. Leucism is a partial loss of pigment, so documented specimens are much lighter than the original, often creamy white with faint colour at the cap centre. It is a striking addition to any spore collection.
Under the Microscope
Unlike true albinos, leucistic strains usually still produce pigmented spores, although prints can appear slightly lighter. Viewing Leucistic Burma next to standard Burma spores is a great way to explore how pigment changes affect the spores themselves.
