What is included

- 10ml Reishi liquid culture syringe
- Sterile 16G needle and 70% IPA swab
How to grow reishi
- Wipe the injection port with the IPA swab, fit the needle and inject 3 to 5ml of liquid culture.
- Incubate the bag somewhere dark and warm, ideally 20 to 25°C.
- When the grain is around 30% colonised, gently break it up and mix it through the substrate to speed things along.
- Once the bag is fully white with mycelium, move it into fruiting conditions at 20 to 30°C with high humidity, fresh air and indirect light, then cut a small opening for the mushrooms to grow from.
About Reishi
Reishi forms glossy, varnished conks in rich reds and browns and is grown as a functional mushroom, traditionally dried and simmered into tea. It is slow but very rewarding to watch develop. Reishi responds to fresh air levels: lots of air encourages conks, while high carbon dioxide grows antler shapes. We rate this bundle as intermediate level.

Store the liquid culture in the fridge at 2 to 8°C until you are ready to use it, and inoculate the grow bag within a few weeks of arrival.
