The First Step in Every Session
Every time we sit down to inoculate a bag, pour agar or set up a monotub, the first thing we reach for is a bottle of alcohol spray. A quick mist over the bench, your gloves and anything you are about to handle kills most bacteria and mould spores on contact and dramatically lowers the chance of contamination.
What to Use It On
- Work surfaces and benches
- Gloved hands, before and during work
- Monotubs and storage tubs before filling
- Scissors, scalpels and other tools
- The outside of grain bags and jars before opening
How to Use
- Spray the surface or item evenly.
- Wipe with a clean paper towel, or leave to air dry.
- Let it evaporate fully before working, as alcohol is flammable.
Safety
Alcohol is highly flammable. Never use it near a flame, lighter or spirit lamp while it is still wet, and keep it away from heat sources. Use in a well ventilated room and keep out of reach of children.
Our Experience
When we look back at the grows we lost, most came from rushing the cleaning stage. Spraying down properly takes a minute and saves a lot of disappointment.
